Penman TECUMSEH, Sept. 27 - Dr. William J. PENMAN, practicing dentist for over 50 years and in Tecumseh 22 years, died suddenly Sunday morning at 1:30 at his home on Newburg Road. Dr. PENMAN had been ill for about three weeks. Born June 15, 1878, in Leamington, Ontario, Canada, he was the son of William A. and Margaret BEST PENMAN. He attended Detroit College of Medicine, graduating from the dental school in 1900, and began his practice in Detroit, where he remained until 1932 when he opened a practice in Tecumseh. On June 8, 1904 he married Lovina Julia SCHREDER, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. John SCHREDER of Tecumseh, and since coming to Tecumseh they had made their home on the family farm where his death occurred. Dr. and Mrs. PENMAN observed their 50th wedding anniversary in June. He was affiliated with the Delta Sigma Delta fraternity and a member of the Tecumseh Presbyterian church. Survivors are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Ross (Jean) HUMPHREY of Berkley, Mich., and Mrs. Frank (Julia) SHIER of Clawson; two granddaughters Ann and Nancy SHIER; two sisters, Mrs. J.B. POLLOCK Of Detroit and Miss Anna E. PENMAN Of Chula Vista, Calif. His parents preceded him in death. The body is at the Green Funeral Home where funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. George E. Walworth will officiate and burial will be in Brookside Cemetery.
