Friends may call after 7 tonight in the Couture- Stark-Proctor Funeral Home, 302 Jackson St., Clinton, where services will be at 11 a.m. Monday. The Reverend Ray Robichaud of Iron Creek Community Church, Manchester, will officiate and burial will be in Pleasent View Cemetery, Petersburg. Born Dec. 3, 1917, in Fork Ridge, Tenn., he was the son of Esco and Bertha (Littrell) Poore. He married Kathryn Bolster Oct. 28, 1943. He had been employed as an assembler for 39 years by Tecumseh Products Co., retiring in 1980. He was an Army Vetran of World War II. He had lived in Monroe for six years, coming here from Evans Lake. He had worked with the Little League Baseball in Clinton for many years. Surviving are his wife; his stepmother, Mary Poore of Middlesboro, KY.; 3 sons, Gary of Manchester, Kenneth Spaulding of Monroe and Wayne of Saline; 3 daughters, Mrs. Brian (Sandra) Baker of Clinton, Ms. Bertha Peck of Monroe, N.C., and Mrs. Jerry (Nancy) Richards of Cypress, California; a brother, Esco Poore Jr. of Pineville, KY.; a sister, Mrs. William (Lulabelle) Goodman of Middlesboro, KY.; 20 granchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial may be made to the Clinton Little League Baseball in care of Sandra Baker.
