Creger DEERFIELD - Bethel M. Creger, age 100, of Deerfield passed away on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2006, at the home of her daughter. She was born Oct. 20, 1905, in Deerfield, Michigan to Dell and Edna (King) Robison. On June 13, 1939, Bethel married Oscar Creger, in Deerfield. After 55 years of marriage, Oscar passed away on June 20, 1994. Bethel lived her entire life in Deerfield and was a graduate of Deerfield High School, the Lenawee County Normal, and the Michigan State Normal College in Ypsilanti, Michigan. For thirteen years, she taught in Monroe County Schools and was a substitute teacher in both Lenawee and Monroe County for over twenty years. Bethel was a member of the Deerfield United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for 25 years. She was an avid reader and she enjoyed working with children. Surviving is her daughter, Verna Ann (Dennis) Frayer of Deerfield; her grandson, David Frayer of Deerfield; her granddaughter, Sara (Cory) Neuman of Adrian and her great-grandson, Kyle Neuman of Adrian. In addition to her husband, Oscar, she was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Doris Robison. Funeral services for Bethel will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Deerfield United Methodist Church in Deerfield with the Rev. Mike Clemmer officiating. Burial will follow in Deerfield Cemetery in Deerfield. Visitation will take place on Tuesday one-hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Deerfield United Methodist Church. Arrangements were handled by the Tagsold Funeral Home in Blissfield.
