Mrs. Roe was born February 2, 1925 in West Unity, Ohio, the daughter of Charles Henry and Nellie May (Flory) Zuver. They preceded her in death. On August 8, 1942 in Bryan, Ohio she married A. L. "Speed" Roe. He preceded her in death on June 15, 1996, as well as their second child, Don Roe, on August 28, 1978. Mrs. Roe was a Youth Specialist for seventeen years working for the State of Michigan at the Adrian Training School, retiring in 1983. She was a member of the Civil Air Patrol in the 1940's and 1950's, and in the 1980's Mrs. Roe was a member of the State Employees Retirement Association, serving terms as its Vice President, Secretary and twice as Treasurer. She was a member of the Tecumseh Missionary Baptist Church. Together, Mr. and Mrs. Roe gave life to four children: Dorothea "Dottie" Suggs of Tampa, FL; Patricia (Sammy) Lanier of Albany, GA with whom Mrs. Roe presided for the past seven years; and Crystal (Francisco) Cazares of Adrian, MI; eleven grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren; one sister Betty Renard of West Unity , Ohio and one brother William Zuver of Scenery Hills, Pa. Besides her husband, son, parents, and grandparents Mrs. Roe was preceded in death by four brothers Charles , Paul, Guy, and Joe Zuver and two sisters Ellen Zuver and Lulu Ikerd. Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday in the Purse Funeral Home, Adrian, with Rev. Dennis Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens, Tecumseh. Visitations will be from 6-8 PM Thursday, 2- 4 & 6-8 PM Friday, and Saturday from 1:00 PM until the time of service in the Purse Funeral Home, Adrian.
