SCHADEWALD, FORMER RESIDENT DIES IN YPSILANTI FUNERAL HELD HERE YESTERDAY AT HOME OF DAUGHTER, MRS. ANN PIOTTER Gottlieb J. Schadewald, aged 89 years, died Sunday evening, August 14, 1943 in an Ypsilanti hospital from a heart ailment. He was a former resident of this community (Blissfield). Mr. Schadewald was born in Germany and came to this country 50 years ago. His wife preceded him in death in 1918. He is survived by two sons, Paul, of Adrian and William of Deerfield; three daughters, Mrs. Minnie Creger of Deerfield, Mrs. Anna Piotter of Blissfield and Mrs. Josephine Grinage of Saline; 32 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Piotter, at 108 Union Street, and at 2:30 o'clock in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, with the Rev. A.J. Lucht officiating. Burial was in the Deerfield cemetery. She is survived by her parents, Mark David Swift and Julie Ann Swift; sisters, Michelle Anne Swift and Jessica Elizabeth Swift of Carson City; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Wisney of Rosebush; great-grandmothers, Mrs. R.A. Piotter of Adrian and Mrs. Joseph Wisney of Detroit; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mrs. Arlene Archey of Mount Pleasant; and grandfather, Jack Swift of Mount Pleasant. Services will be held Tuesday, July 11, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Carson City with the Fr. William Rietz officiating. Visitation will be Monday, July 10, at the Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home in Carson City from 2- 4 and 7-9 p.m. with a Rosary beginning at 7:30 p.m. Interment will be at the Maryknoll Cemetery in Carson City. Memorials may be made to the "Sarah Pat Swift Memorial Fund" care of the Chemical Bank in Carson City, Mi. Additional Comments: Gottlieb J.
