Ill Two Weeks Lorain Man Dies
1948

H. (Herbert) Roy Skeels 75, 428 Florida Ave. died at 8:50 a.m. today at 
St. Joseph Hospital after an illness of 2 weeks. Born in Adrian Michigan, 
Skeels came to Lorain, Ohio 13 years ago.  He was a member of the Evening 
Star lodge No. 173, F. and A.M. of Medina, Delaware Ave. Methodist Church 
and the Friendship class of the church. Survivors are his wife Lucy E.; a 
son Herold V. of Philadelphia, a daughter Mrs. Loreen M. Dunbar, Flint, 
Mich.; two brothers Clarence of Gladwin, Mich. and Fred of Lincoln Park, 
Mich., a sister Mrs. Kate Lefferts, Jackson, Mich.; five grandchildren and 
4 great-grandchildren. The body is a t Walter A. Frey funeral home and 
will be taken to the Delaware Ave. Methodist Church at 1 p.m. Sunday where 
funeral services will be at 4 p.m. with Rev. Stanley J. Shoemaker 
officiating with Rev. Hubert Cobb of Cleveland assisting. The body will be 
taken to the Everiss Funeral Home, Adrian Michigan Monday mornaing for 
funeral services in Adrian.  Burial will be in the East Rome Cemetery in 
Adrain.
