ADRIAN DAILY TELEGRAM

John Ford  SAWYER
  John Ford Sawyer 80 years old, a resident of Adrian for about 50
years, died at
9 p. m. Sunday at the Miller Nursing Home in Cadmus. He had been in ill
health for the last three months.
  Born in Ogden township, the son of Jerome and Helen SAWYER, he worked
in Adrian as a painter until retiring some years ago. His parents, two
brothers, one sister, and his wife, Althea PIFER,  preceded him in
death. Mr. SAWYER was married Aug. 14, 1908, and his wife died the next
year.
  He is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Celia ROBERTSON of Blissfield,
Mrs. Lois WHALEY of Harrison, Mrs. Florence PATTON and Mrs. Alverta
ELLIOTT of Adrian. The body is at the Tagsold Funeral Home in
Blissfield.
  The funeral will be held at 2:30 p. m. Wednesday at the Tagsold
Funeral Home in Blissfield. The Rev. A. J. GUTHRIE will officiate.
Burial will be in Zion Cemetery.
