Schreder Called By Death Was Supervisor 17 Years And One Of The Best Known Men In The County After an illness extending over several months with heart trouble Supervisor John F. Schreder passed away Friday at 3:30 pm. Mr. Schreder started out as usual to make the assessment this spring but was too sick to complete the work and this over-doing probably hastened the end. John Schreder was born February 15, 1852, a son of Isreal and Margaret (Gillespie) Schreder. His birthplace was in Raisin and his whole life was spent in this vicinity. December 15, 1875, he married Miss Jennie Schreder and to them were born six children, Mrs. Lovisa Millard now of Chicago; Mrs. Lovina Penman, now of Detroit; Chas. Schreder of Utica, Mich.; Mrs. Lydia Reid of Phoenix, Arizona; Mrs. Margaret Ryan of Cleveland and Miss Blanche Schreder of Chicago. Mrs. Schreder died in 1907 and later Mr. Schreder married Mrs. Susie Coller of Tecumseh who survives. The deceased also leaves to mourn two sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Mary Cook of Clinton, Mrs. Emma Waldron, Willis and Grant Schreder of Tecumseh and fifteen grandchildren. Seventeen years ago Mr. Schreder was elected supervisor and this office he has filled efficiently thru the years. Previously he was highway commissioner for eleven years. A loyal friend, efficient in his duties and a good business man, probably no man in this vicinity had more friends than John Schreder. He had been a member of the Presbyterian church for many years and held a life membership in the Masonic lodge. The funeral was held from the home Monday afternoon, Rev. J. F. Kiskaddon officiating. The bearers were brother Masons: Joseph Smith, Frank Temple, G.B. Garlinghouse, Frank Bradley, C.E. Williamson and Frank Pratt. The house and lawn were full of many friends and relatives of the deceased. Tboard of supervisors attended ina body and with them were many of the county officials, among the latter: County Clerk Emery Root, Prosecutor Leland Bean, Poor Commissioner Osborne, School Commissioner Tripp, Treasurer Harry Osgood. The Masonic fraternity and county officials formed the escort to the cemetery and a long line of cars made an impressive cortege. At the grave the beautiful Masonic burial service was read by R.A. Heesen with fifty Masons in line. Among those from away in attendance were Mrs. Lovisa Millard and daughter, Miss Margaret of Chicago; Mrs. Margaret Ryan of Cleveland; Dr. and Mrs. Will Penman and daughters and Mrs. Geo. H. Stacy of Detroit; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schreder of Utica, Mich.; Mrs. Walter Hunt of Leverne, Iowa; Ernest Coller of Jackson; Mr. and Mrs. J.A.
