A life well spent drew quietly to a close with the closing of the short December day, leaving behind an unsoiled record as rich heritage to loving children. When but a small child she came to Tecumseh, Mich., with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard GILLESPIE, and her entire life had been spent within a few miles of the village. She was married to Isreal SCHREDER, July 4, 1848, and had her life been spared until the next anniversary the golden wedding day would have been observed. Seven children were born to Mr. & Mrs. SCHREDER, six of whom have grown to manhood and womanhood: Mrs. Dwight GOODRICH of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Mary COOK, Mrs. L.M. WALDRON, J.F. SCHREDER, Willis G. SCHREDER and R. Grant SCHREDER, of Tecumseh, survive her. The aged husband was ill at the time and not able to be up, and will feel the loss most deeply. After so long a companionship the parting is so sad, but it will not be long; in the course of nature, it cannot be. Mrs. SCHREDER was a consistent member of the Tecumseh Presbyterian Church and one who lived her daily life an open example to friends and neighbors. Always prompt to help the needy person, ready to go wherever duty called in time of trouble, and active in social affairs in the neighborhood where she had lived so many years.
