Mrs. John SCHREDER (nee STEVENSON)was born in County Antrim,
Ireland July 12, 1851, thus she would have been 56 years old had she
lived till next July. She came to Tecumseh at the age of 15 in which
community she has since resided.
She was united in marriage to Mr. SCHREDER 31 years ago last December
15th. This union is blessed with six children, Lovisa, Lavina, Charles,
Lydia, Margaret and Blanche. Theirs has been been a happy beautiful
family life, this is the first intrustion of the dreaded enemy Death.
Mrs. SCHREDER was member of the First Presbyterian church. Her christian
experience was real and vital, it brought comfort and rest in her
struggle with pain.
She was a constant sufferer during the last few years of her life,
while she never was very vigorous. Her contest for life was a valiant
one, aided by physicians and kind, careful nursing and thoughtful
home attention could bestow.
Her call from the Master came , she was ready and drifted peacefully
from the world into the presence of her Saviour.
She was conscious to the last and had made full preparation
for her own funeral services. Despite the pouring rain a large company
of friends gathered to pay their last respects to one loved by the
entire community.
