SARAH COATES OF TECUMSEH DIED EARLY TODAY; BURIAL THURSDAY TECUMSEH, Mich. May 5-Mrs. Sarah COATES, aged 73 years, died at 1 o'clock this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred ANDERSON, three miles north of Tecumseh, after a 10 weeks illness of a complication of diseases. She was born in Yorkshire, England, June 9, 1851 and came to America with her parents, when she was aged 5 years. They located near Britton, in which vicinity most of her life was spent, until six years ago, when she went to live with her daughter. She was married to John HOUSEMAN in 1881, his death occurring in 1889. Later she was united in marriage to Henry COATES who died in 1917. She was a member of the Methodist Protestant church at Britton. She leaves two sons, David HOUSEMAN of Britton and Grover HOUSEMAN of Detroit and one daughter Mrs. Fred ANDERSON of Tecumseh; five grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. A.A. PALMER of Ridgeway and Mrs. Albert SUTTON of Britton. The funeral service will be held at the home of Mrs. ANDERSON, Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with the burial in the Ridgeway cemetery. jic
