:"The Commercial" Newspaper Summerfield,MI  March 22, 1878
Deerfield

     In Summerfield, Sunday March 17 George Washington Thayer died of 
Inflammation of the bowels - Age 29 years. Funeral at the Methodist Church on  
Tuesday the 19th. He leaves a wife and 3 small children.
