Obituaries

 

ROBERT L.THORNTON, SR.

Robert L. Thornton, Sr., 82, recently of Tipton, died Sept. 29, 2008, at the 
Lenawee Medical Care Facility, Adrian.  He was born in Hibbing, MN, on June 
24, 1926 and lived there until moving to Michigan three years ago.  He married 
Frances Marincel of Mt. Iron, MN on June 19, 1954, who survives him.

 

He was a third degree Knight of Columbus and a life-long member of Blessed 
Sacrament Parish in Hibbing and recently a member of St. Elizabeth's Parish in 
Tecumseh.  

 

Robert is survived by his children, Robert Jr. (Rosemary) of Ypsilanti, 
Michael (Vicki) of Portland, Oregon, Jean Kailser (David) of Tipton, Timothy 
(Dorothea) of Ann Arbor, Thomas of Federal Way, Washington, Mark (Kara) of St. 
Paul, MN and Brian (Kara) of Monticello, MN.  He is also survived by 21 
grandchildren.  

A Mass of  Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 4, 2008, 
at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Tecumseh with Fr. Daniel Wheeler 
officiating.  Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Tecumseh.  

 

Visitation will also be on Saturday at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 
Tecumseh, from 10 a.m. until time of funeral mass.

 

Special thanks to Lenawee Medical and Hospice of Lenawee for their care over 
the last year.
