The late Nancy VanValkenburg was born in Lysander, New York on July 7,
1822; the daughter of Gardner and Rhoda Perry Hale.  She married Abram
VanValkenburg on January 5, 1843 and came with her husband and family to
Gorham, Ohio in 1847 settling on a new farm where she has ever since lived
until her death on April 19, 1899.  She was a noble woman in all the walks
of life, a kind, and affectionate wife and mother.  She will long be
remembered by kindred souls.  She leaves the following children to mourn
her passing, daughter Mary E. Salsbury of Morenci and 3 sons Smith A.
VanValkenburg, Abram VanValkenburg, Jr. and Wellington VanValkenburg.  She
was buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci.
