WYRILL was born in Billborough, England, Jan. 5, 1832, and died in Tecumseh, Mich., Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 10th at four o'clock. He came to Michigan at the age of 23 and settled in Tecumseh, which place has been his home for fifty years. He was accompanied to this country by his wife, Elizabeth THOMPSON Wyrill, whom he married in Yorkshire, England. Mrs. WYRILL died at Charleston, Ill., leaving two children, both of whom now are dead. Mr. WYRILL was married the second time Aug. 21., 1864, to Mary E. McNEIL. Three children were born to them all of whom are living. They are Mrs. L. M. JONES of Detroit, Mrs. John LINTON and John WYRILL, both residents of Tecumseh, who with the wife and mother survive. For a number of years Mr. WYRILL was janitor of the Tecumseh schools. He was a veteran of the Civil War and a member of the G. A. R. The funeral was held from the house yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Ward officiated. A large concourse of friends gathered at the family home to pay their last respects to a man whom they had loved and respected during his residence here. Burial took place at Brookside. Marietta McNEIL WYRILL Tecumseh Herald September 2, 1920 MRS. MARIETTA WYRILL DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS Mrs. Marietta WYRILL, aged 73 years, widow of the late Thomas WYRILL, passed away last night at 11:00 at her home on North Maiden Lane after a long illness with heart trouble. She was born in Newburg August 24, 1847, but her family came to Tecumseh when she was but a child, and here she has resided since. Aug. 21, 1864, soon after Thomas WYRILL was discharged from his service in the Civil War, he and the subject of this sketch were married and to them were born three children: John WYRILL, Mrs. Julia LINTON, now deceased, and Mrs. Lena JONES. Mrs. WYRILL was a devoted Methodist, active in the various organizations of her church, a member of the Lady Maccabees and the Beers Auxiliary. Of a social nature she delighted in attendance at the meetings of these orders and had hosts of friends who sincerely sympathize with her loved ones. Besides the two children who reside here are five grandchildren: Wyrill LINTON of Detroit, Glenn WYRILL of Toledo, Mrs. Florence HARPER, who, with her husband and little son, resided with Mrs. WYRILL, Oliver JONES and Maxine WYRILL. Also residing in Tecumseh are one brother, Friend McNEIL,and three sisters, Misses Sarah, Lydia and Hortense McNEIL. The funeral will be held from the home Saturday morning at 10 o'clock, with burial in Brookside. dz
