The wedding was strictly a home function, occurring in the house in which they will make their home, No. 40 State street. Only the immediate families and friends were in attendance, with Rev. Howard Field and wife, of Milan, cousins of the bride, Mrs. D. A. Dodge, of Florida, and Mrs. Pomeroy and daughter, Margie, of Ann Arbor, from abroad. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Howard Field, in an alcove off the parlor, which had been transformed into a Cupid's bower by deft hands, the decorations being with smilax. The Methodist ring service was observed at 7:30 and the bride and groom were unattended. The bride was attired in white Persian lawn, the groom being dressed in the conventional color. Following the quiet ceremony a wedding feast was served and congratulations showered upon them. They left later in the evening over the Wabash road for Detroit. On the Fourth they took the river trip to Port Huron and return. Today they returned here to their host of friends, and have settled down to housekeeping in the home where they were wedded, and which had been furnished by the groom for their occupancy. Many were the handsome presents they received, as both are most popular young people here. The bride's traveling gown was grey cloth. At the Wabash station here Wednesday evening the happy couple were given a hearty bon voyage by a large number of members of the Maple City lodge knights of Pythias, of which Mr. Mills is the chacellor commander. The bride in this function has been most favorably known in Adrian all her life. For a few years past she has been deputy register of deeds under Mark B. Mills and Smith D. Fairbanks. Her friends are numbered by the hundreds. Mr. Mills is an attache of D.M. Baker's coal and lumber office, and is very popular in K.P. circles as wella s in other social andin business life. A long life and happiness is what everybody asks for them.
