W. Parks, being of sound mind and in the free exercise of my faculties make this my last will & testament. I commend my body to the earth and my spirit to him who gave it, in the hope of salvation throught the Lord Jesus Christ and of a resurrection to eternal life. My earthly substance I dispose of as follows, viz, to my wife Caroline I bequeath the house in which I now reside in the village of Blissfied, with the two lots connected with it viz nos 25 & 26, in the village _____. Also a lot of woodland, in Palmyra, to be used by her and my son Aaron as equal shares, and the property thus bequeathed to my wife, as above, ______ for her use and comfort, to be kept in repair by her, & to be a residence as far as _____ , for my children in their minority & at her decease to be divided among the four, who are now in their minority. Also I give to my wife four hundred dollars due to me in the state of Ohio, if the same be not previously received by me for her use & benefit. With respect to my children; having made provision as presumed proper, heretofore, for my four eldest; viz, Alanson, Orrille, Mariah & Mary, I make the other four viz. Aaron, Margaret, John & Wesley my residuary legatees, who, as they become of age shall receive as soon as practicable their equal shares of any property not appropriated as above & at the decease of my wife shall be entitled to ______ equal shares of the whole. I do hereby appoint as Executors of this my will my wife Caroline Parks & John Monteith of Blissfield. Done at Blissfield this 12th day of March 1851 & _____ by me In the presence of H J Sheltdon and T Rogers E. W. Parks [notes: Ebenezer Walker Parks is the son of Aaron Parks and Rachel Walker. Aaron served in the Revolutionary War from Connecticut; resided in Sudbury, VT and later in Malone, Franklin County, NY. Ebenezer is documented in Huron County, OH from 1819 and then, later, in Erie County. Alanson Parks was in Cass County, MI by 1834 and married Emeline Hendricks in 1837; Orrille Parks is believed to have married John Gould but whereabouts unknown after marriage; Aaron Parks m. Jane Cook 1 June 1856 and resided in Valparaiso, Indiana; the whereabouts of Mary, Mariah, Margaret, John and Wesley are unknown. It is, however, known that Margaret was still alive in 1883 -- Wesley and John having died earlier. Also Alanson and one sister (Orrille, Mary or Mariah) were still alive in 1883. Margaret was still alive when Aaron died in 1911 but her married name is not known]
