NARHI David E. Narhi, age 77, of Linden passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at home. David was born in Detroit to Emil and Aileen (Lund) Narhi on December 2, 1929. After serving in the Army Air Corps post-WWII, Dave met and married his love of over 50 years, Donna Ann (Stokes). In 1961, their growing family moved from Detroit to a farm in Livingston County. In addition to farming, Dave worked full time as a tool maker and started a repair/parts business, RF Equipment, Inc., still thriving near Perry, MI. Though he never fully retired, David did make time for a couple of hobbies; woodworking in the winter and golfing from early spring through late fall. A devoted Catholic, husband, and father, he was considered Superman to his eight children, Cynthia (Louis) Glubzinski of Howell, Tanya Narhi of Ypsilanti, Tim (Kimberly) Narhi of Byron, Pamela (Christopher) Iden of Goodrich, Marcella (Joe) Narhi of Cohoctah, Rebecca (Chad) Erway of Byron, Andrew (Sandra) Narhi of Linden, and Monica Narhi, currently serving in the US Army as a Blackhawk Helicopter pilot in Afghanistan, Dave's grandchildren include Edward and Daniel Kahn, David, Roger, Kelly, and Melissa Turkowski, Raymon and Rhonda Caldwell, Leigh and John Narhi, Angel Alcorn, Nathalie, Michael, and Stephen Iden, Sophie and Audrey Narhi. Dave has one great-granddaughter, Lily Turkowski with a second due in May, a sister, Alice Woodworth of Colorado, two nieces, two nephews, and brother-in- law Gerald Stokes of Howell. Preceding David in death were his parents, a namesake nephew, and precious granddaughter, infant Emily Elizabeth. Dave will be missed on the golf courses, at the shop, at the weekly family rosary and dinner, at church, and at the Fenton Hotel, where he took his beloved wife Donna on a dinner date and dancing every Saturday night. Viewing on Wed., March 28, 1-4pm and 6 to 8:30pm with rosary at 7:30pm, at Sharp Funeral Home, 209 Broad St., in Linden. Dave's funeral mass will be held at St. Augustine Catholic Church at 11am on Thursday, March 29. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation in Dave's name to Right to Life of Livingston County.
