There were two signers of the Declaration of Independence surnamed Morris: Robert Morris (1734-1806) representing Pennsylvania at the Continental Congress & Lewis Morris (1726-1798) representing New York at the Continental Congress. Of the two, Lewis Morris is the only one listed as married. He and his wife Mary Walton had ten children, but no child named Margaret is listed. It is possible Morris is not Margaret's maiden name. Perhaps she was previously married. Additional Comments: Photo taken by Hal Prentice, July 2, 2007. Any information about Margaret Morris would be appreciated.
