JOHN BOLAN
DIED
MAY 23, 1917
AGED 79
"Sleep father dear and take thy rest
God called three home, He thought it best"
(Inscription has worn away)

Additional Comments:
Mrs. Emerson (Margaret) Smith, 1961 - Note: Along side are two homemade 
crosses without dates or names, perhaps his parents.
John Bolan was born 1838 to Francis & Kate Closs Bolan.  He married Mary 
Eleonora (Leonore) Paquin and they had nine children.  John was a fisherman 
and they lived in Saint Ignace, Hendricks and Moran, Michigan.  He died 23 May 
1917 in Moran and is buried at Gros Cap Cemetery, Block A, Lot 12 next to a 
stone with only Frank Bolan (perhaps his father).
