Her first husband was Louis Babbeau, a Hudson Bay fur trapper, who settled here in about 1810 and was awarded Private Claim No. 11 in St. Ignace. There were two children: Mary Babbeau, who married Isaac Blanchard, and Joseph Babbeau. They inherited the Babbeau claim. Josephine was married a second time to Jean B. LaJeunnesse.
