He was born in Prussia in 1842. He immigrated from Prussia. He married Magdalena Kline born in New York, January 1851. Some records have her last name as Bline. This is incorrect. They were charter members of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Utica, MI in 1882, subscribing $20 to the building fund. They had 8 children. There is a large Bliesath stone in Utica Cemetery.
