Clemens Monitor, April 1, 1904 CONNER, HENRY: The expected death of Henry Conner occurred early Tuesday morning. The funeral is today. Mr. Conner was one of the pioneer citizens of Mt. Clemens. He was born on a farm a mile from Mt. Clemens, October 25th, 1818, and was son of that John Conner, who fought in the war of 1812, was taken prisoner to Halifax by the British, and died at Romeo aged 90 years. Mr. Conner was the pioneer hotel- keeper of Mt. Clemens, and long time was proprietor of the Sherman House. He had been out of business for some years. His wife and two daughters died a few years ago, and three sons survive.
