Macomb Daily newspaper, Feb. 18, 1978:
 
 Clair Davis
   Warren - Clair A. Davis, 60, an employee of the General Motors 
 Technical Center since 1958, died Friday at South Macomb Hospital, 
 Warren.
   He was a resident of Warren since 1940 and a member of the Warren 
 Moose Lodge.
   He is survived by his wife Mildred; sons James, of Fraser, and Joel,
  of Warren; Daughters Jeneva Joyce, of Illinois, Janet Ferguson, of 
 Mt. Clemens, and Jean Matty, of Warren; nine grandchildren; and 
 brother, Claude, of 
 Smiths Creek.
   Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Ford Funeral 
 Home, 26560 Van Dyke, Center line, with the Rev. Edward Zavell 
 officiating.  Burial will be in Cadillac Memorial Gardens East, 
 Clinton Township.
 
 Interestingly, Clair and Claude (twins) were born in Kinde to William 
 and Lyda Duncan.  Sometime around the age of 4 or 5 they were adopted 
 by the Davis' and moved to Smiths Creek.
