He was born February l, 1969, the son of Larry B. Routley Sr. and Janet K. Snider Routley and later graduated from Utica High School in Utica, Michigan. John graduated from Michigan State University in June of 1992 with a bachelor's degree in Public Affairs Management. After college, John moved to Arizona where he was employed by the Arizona State Department of Economics Security for the last four years. Surviving John are his father, Larry B. (step-mother, Juanita) Routley Sr. of Washington, Illinois; two half-brothers, Larry B. (Misty) Routley, Jr., and Andrew J. Routley of Washburn, Illinois; a half-sister, Jodi (Dennis) Baker of Hersey; a foster brother and sister, Peter and Brandi Houtikier, maternal grandmother, Marjorie Brown Snider of Florida; paternal grandmother, Pheobe Wachter Routley of Reed City; step grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Parker of Farwell; and many cousins, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his mother Janet Snider. A memorial service was held 11:00 am, Friday, November 26, at the Rogers-Mohnke Funeral Home at Big Rapids with Bill Routley officiating.
