Eva SOMERVILLE, aged 9 years, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank SOMERVILLE,
and Miss Clara Maud McCORMICK, aged 19, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Frank McCORMICK and sister of Mrs. SOMERVILLE, died of diphtheria between
five and six o'clock.

Eva SOMERVILLE was taken down with diphtheria a couple of weeks ago, and
Miss McCORMICK went to nurse her. She appeared to be getting along nicely
towards complete recovery. Miss McCORMICK had no fear of the disease; she
attended church Sunday and done shopping Monday. Monday night Eva appeared
to be worse. Tuesday Miss McCORMICK was taken down sick; this evening at
half past five Eva died, and in fifteen minutes afterwards, Clara McCORMICK
joined her. Rev. Father Grimme administered the last rites of the church,
and was with them until their pure spirits were released from their earthly
tenements and joined the choir of angels.

It was a sad and gloomy Christmas for the sorrowing parents and relatives.
May the comforter of the afflicted comfort them, and the souls of the departed
rest in peace.
