Putney Died December 30, 2002 FRANKFORT - Mildred C. Putney, 92, of Frankfort, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 30, 2002. She was born May 27, 1910, in Greenup County, Ky., the daughter of John and Ruby (Jones) Bentley. Mildred married Leo H. Putney on Aug. 16, 1933, and they walked faithfully together serving the Lord until Leo's passing on March 18, 1978. Mildred continued her life journey with Jesus by her side. She knew Him, walked with Him, trusted Him and is now with Him forever. She and Leo spent their lives reaching out to others in the name of the Lord. They brought children and families to church, helped those who were in need and prayed with many for their salvation. What a rich heritage they leave for those who knew them and loved them. Mildred was a member of the Frankfort Family of Faith Church of the Nazarene. She taught Sunday school for many years and was the former treasurer of both the Frankfort Wesleyan Church and the former Pilgrim Holiness Church. She loved and enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and has left them a beautiful map of life to follow. In addition to her husband, Leo, she was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother in infancy, Clarence Bentley; her daughter, Ruby Brown; her granddaughter, Terri (Brown) Hammond; her sisters, Ruth Sears and Josephine Fouts; and her brothers, Ray and Ralph Bentley. Visitation will be held Thursday, Jan. 2, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Frankfort Chapel, McElduff Funeral Homes. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Friday, Jan. 3, at the Family of Faith Church of the Nazarene in Frankfort, with Pastor Daniel Stone and Pastor Rodney Knapp officiating. Interment will be in Conway Cemetery in Arcadia in the spring of 2003. Memorial contributions may be made to the Family of Faith Church of the Nazarene in Frankfort. Arrangements have been handled by the Frankfort Chapel, McElduff Funeral Homes.
