Petersen Died August 5, 1999 FRANKFORT - Carol R. Petersen, a resident of Frankfort since 1949, died early Thursday morning at Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital in Frankfort at the age of 70. Born May 30, 1929, in Onekama, she was the daughter of Virsil and Lucille (Belgarde) Nelson. She was united in marriage to Robert E. Petersen on April 19, 1947, in Toledo, Ohio. Carol was a homemaker. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Harborview Senior Center Kitchen Kats Band. The biggest joy of her life was her family and her card playing buddies. She is survived by her husband, Robert, of Frankfort; four daughters, Dyana (Earl) Parsons of Elberta, Debra (Allen) Reed of Benzonia, Denice (Rick) Seaman of Muskegon and Dixie (Greg) Wilkins of Honor. Also surviving are two brothers, Harlan (Betty) Nelson of Bear Lake and Virsil Nelson of Manistee; sister, Dawn Smith of Manistee; nine grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Phyllis Christenson and Faye Fredericks; and a son-in-law, Steve Willey. Services for Carol will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Frankfort. Pastor Rick Stieve will officiate. No visitation is planned. Following cremation, her ashes will be buried in the Gilmore Township Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial contribution in Carol's memory to the Trinity Lutheran Church. The family was served by the Frankfort Chapel, McElduff Funeral Homes.
