 BEAR LAKE - Eugene Dale Farnsworth, 53, of Bear Lake, accidentally drowned 
Wednesday evening, June 5, 2002, in Glovers Lake, located in Manistee County's 
Pleasanton Township.
      He was born April 3, 1949, in Manistee, the son of Lawrence Farnsworth 
and the late Mable (Conklin) Farnsworth. Eugene attended Bear Lake Schools. On 
June 3, 1983, he married Linda Kay (Forrester) Rennie in Beulah.
      Eugene was self-employed as an asphalt sealer, owning and operating 
Farnsworth Seal Coating. He had previously been employed by the Manistee Forge, 
and Ron Brown & Sons.
      A sportsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
      Eugene is survived by his wife, Linda Kay Farnsworth of Bear Lake; three 
children and their spouses, Toni and Steve Martinez of Branch, Amanda and 
Michael Marek of Ypsilanti and Robert and Naomi Rennie of Guam; three 
grandchildren, Marissa and Mitchell Martinez, and Matthew Marek; his father, 
Lawrence Farnsworth of Bear Lake; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Patsy and 
David Gutschke, and Susan Farnsworth, all of Bear Lake; eight brothers and six 
sisters-in-law, Larry Farnsworth of Burr Oaks, Ind., Dennis and Shirley 
Farnsworth of Arcadia, Ronald and Jane Farnsworth, Richard Farnsworth, Keith 
and Lisa Farnsworth, Elwin and Karen Farnsworth, Roger and Sandy Farnsworth, 
and Gary and Diane Farnsworth, all of Bear Lake. Eugene is also survived by 
many nieces and nephews.
      The family will receive friends Sunday, June 9, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the 
Edwards Oak Grove Funeral Home in Bear Lake.
      Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, June 10, at the 
Bear Lake United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Russ Garrigus officiating. The 
family will again receive friends at the church on Monday one hour prior to the 
services. Burial will be in the Pleasanton Township Cemetery.
      The Edwards Oak Grove Funeral Home of Bear Lake is in charge of funeral 
arrangements.
