Fred William May
      Died April 3, 2001
      BEAR LAKE - Fred William May, 69, of Bear Lake, died on Tuesday at Munson 
Medical Center in Traverse City.
      Born on May 10, 1931, in Detroit, he was the son of Clifford and Olive 
(McManus) May. On June 21, 1957, in Lincoln Park, Fred married the former Jo 
Ann Clark, who survives.
      Fred was employed as a telephone repairman for Bell Telephone for 37 
years. Fred loved fishing and the Detroit Lions. He came to Bear Lake every 
summer, moving here in 1969.
     He was preceded in death by his parents.
      The family will be at the Edwards Funeral Home of Bear Lake to receive 
friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday.
      Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the St. Joseph 
Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Conner officiating. Burial will be held in the 
spring in the Pleasanton Township Cemetery.
      Memorial contributions may be made to Munson Hospice. Envelopes will be 
available at the funeral home.
      The Edwards Funeral Home of Bear Lake is in charge of the Funeral 
arrangements.
