Steve Risat, of Detroit, recommended for ten years. Charles Austin and LeRoy Rogus, of Genesee county, fifteen years for robbery, and Jack Robinson, ten years for robbery and Frank Paterson, three years for burglary, are the new inmates. The arrival of these men swells the total number of prisoners to 398, it’s within nineteen the greatest number ever entered in the institution. There are now eight-six more prisoners than cells. The sending of prisoners to any prison in the state is optional with the judge passing sentence, and prisoners are sometimes permitted to express a preference.
