Alma Louise Arp was born on April 13, 1910 at Oneida, Tama, Iowa to parents 
Henry Claudius Arp and Anna Stelck, the last of eleven children. Her siblings 
were: 
1. Herman Christian Arp (born April 7, 1892 Elberton, Tama, IA, died February 
26, 1978 Ludington, Mason, Michigan); 
2. Jochim Alfred Arp (born June 1893 Clutier, Tama, IA, died June 1893 Clutier, 
Tama, Iowa); 
3. Carl Arp (born June 1893 Clutier, Tama, Iowa (twin to Jochim), died June 
1893 Clutier, Tama, IA); 
4. Lena Caroline Arp (born May 20, 1894 Clutier, Tama, IA, died June 7, 1975 
South Haven, Van Buren, Michigan); 
5. Maggie Arp (born December 19, 1896 Clutier, Tama, IA, died January 12, 1983 
Princeton, Mercer, Missouri); 
6. William Edward (born July 3, 1898 Clutier, Iowa, died July 10, 1954 Tama 
County, Iowa); 
7. Johannes Barnhart Arp (born March 8, 1900 Clutier, Tama, IA, died August 8, 
1985 Toledo, Tama, IA); 
8. Christian Jochim Arp (born June 22, 1901 Clutier, Tama, Iowa, died January 
1, 1948 Marshalltown, Marshall, Iowa); 
9. Henry Claudius Arp (born June 22, 1901 Oneida, Tama, Iowa, died November 25, 
1992 Toledo, Tama, Iowa) and 
10. Katherine Arp (born January 16, 1905 Clutier, Tama, Iowa, died January 11, 
1978 Scottville, Mason, Michigan). 

Alma can be found living with her parents in the 1915 census at Salt Creek, 
Tama, IA, she was 4 years old. 

Next found in the 1920 census at Elberon, York, Tama, IA: Henry C Arp 53, Anna 
Arp 53, William E Arp 21, John E Arp 19, Christ Arp 17, Henry C Arp 17, Katie C 
Arp 14, Alma L Arp 9. 

Her parents and some of her siblings moved east to Michigan. 

Found in the 1930 census at Freesoil, Mason, Michigan: Henry C Arp 62, Annie 
Arp 62, Katie Arp 25, Alma Arp 20. 

Alma married Harl Ray on February 5, 1937 at Michigan. (Harl Ray born February 
1897 Custer, Mason, Michigan, died August 5, 1943 Walhalla, Mason, Michigan.) 
The couple had a daughter. 

Alma Louise Arp Ray died on September 23, 1974 at Free Soil, Mason, Michigan.
