Granville R. McFarland was born 13 July 1846 to Jonathan Fisher and Prudence 
(Herrick) McFarland in Blue Hill, Hancock County, Maine. He was married to 
Mary Jane Henshall (1848-1919) on 29 March 1867 in Black River Falls, Jackson 
County, Wisconsin. He died 12 September 1926 in Scottville, Mason County, 
Michigan. He and Mary Jane were the parents of Charles E. McFarland (Abt. 1869-
?), I. Chesley McFarland (1871-1965), Harry Rivers McFarland (1879-?), Amelia 
McFarland (Abt. 1881-?), and Gladys Belle (McFarland) Pym (1885-1966).
