Additional Comments:
Headstone should read Alexander De Peel.  He was a soldier in the Civil War.  
He was injured during a battle and taken prisoner by the Confederate Army.  He 
escaped and rode his horse back to Michigan from Georgia.  He was found by a 
group of Indians.  He recuperated and went back to finish his service in the 
army until the war ended.  He was a farmer in Mason County, Michigan.
