The father of William Pearson was a native of Massachusetts, an American soldier of the Revolution, and removed to Canada. On the advent of the second war with Great Britain, his son William went to the Bay State and enlisted in the American service, fought at Plattsburg and returned to the Dominion after the war was ended. He is still living there and receives a pension from the Government of the United States. Mr. Pearson became a citizen of Michigan in 1870, when he came to Mecosta County and bought 68 acres of land, where he now resides. He has placed 50 acres of his farm in a creditable state of cultivation, and has erected thereon a good frame house. He was married in October, 1854, to Eliza Jane Duard, of Canada, where she was born June 25, 1836. Children: William D., Jane, Mary, Eliza A., John E., Richard Z., Harriet A., Joseph A., Nellie and Minnie E. Mr. Pearson is a member of the Order of Patrons of Husbandry.
