May 27, 1936: W.A. BELL, 84, PASSES TODAY "Had Been Resident for More than 65 Years in County" W.A. Bell, 84, a resident of Big Rapids and vicinity for more than 65 years, died early today at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Allan Edgerly who lives on the home farm near Morley. Mr. Bell was born June 30, 1852, in Ontario, Canada. He came to Michigan when a boy of 19 with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John A. Bell who were among the early pioneer of Michigan. On July 6, 1874 he was united in marriage with Edna Josephine Groom and the couple lived on a farm near Morley until recent years. For a few years after their retirement from the farm they lived on Clark street in this city. Mr. Bell is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Allan Edgerly, on the home farm, and Mrs. M.E. (Melvin) Saltzman of this city, and two sons, Ray Bell and Clarence Bell of Morley. Funeral services will be held from the farm home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock and the body will be brought to this city for interment in Highland View cemetery. Additional Comments: Son of John A.
