Donley Has Passed Away Shock of Operation to Great For Patient's Weakened System Mrs. Jessie Sommerville Donley, wife ofW.E. Donley passed away last evening at 8:45 at the Mercy Hospital sanitarium, caused by the shock of an operation performed on Thursday, by Dr. Chas. C. BYrne of Grace Hospital, Chicago, an old school friend of Mrs. Donley. The operation itself was very successful, but the shock was to much for her weakened system. Mrs. Donley was born April 25, 1864, in Chicago, and was a daughter of the late Alex McDougall, contractor and owner of a planing mill in Chicago. She was married to W.E. Donley 14 years ago in Wisconsin, and lived in Chicago, where she was a prominent member of society on the WEst side. Some five years ago she moved to Big Rapids, where Mr. Donley has been in the electric light business for the past dozen years or more. Short services will be held this evening at 6 o'clock from the home on Ives Avenue, by the Rev. W.A. Henderson of the Episcopal church, of, which she was a member. The remains will be taken to Chicago on the 7:40 train this evening, accompanied by her only living relatives, her husband and nephew, Clark Aubry of chicago. There will be short services in Chicago tomorrow. The funeral will be MOnday at Glenellyn, Ill., where Mr. Donley's father, former wife and some children are interred. The members of Pilgrim Commandery, K.T., of which Mr. Donley is a member, was summoned to appear at the Asylum tonight to attend the funeral services, and to escort the remains to the G.R. & I. Depot.
