Hartt of Pierson, was in the city today, to arrange for the burial of his father, Sam Hartt, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. F.E. Shattuck, of Sand Lake. The funeral will be held at that place tomorrow afternoon, after which the remains will be brought here on the 4:31 train for interment in Highland View Cemetery. Sam Hartt was once a well known lumberman of this city, having lived here upwards of 15 years until about 18 years ago. He was 75 years of age and had lived for several years with his son, C.W. at Pierson. He was a member up until the time of his death of the local Masonic Lodge. Besides the two children mentioned, C.W. and Mrs. Shattuck, there are two other children surviving: Mrs. H.L. Carter of Traverse City and Mrs. L.B. Bradish of Grand Rapids.
