DIED. TRIPP – at his place in the township of Jerome, on Monday, June 27th, Joseph Tripp. Aged 69 years. Joseph Tripp was born near Percy, Canada. He came to Michigan in 1865, and in 1867 he bough the homestead where he died. He was the first white man who settled on the line of the F & P. M. R. R. west of Sanford in Midland Co. He was well known throughout the county and had gained a host of friends by his many acts of neighborly good will. The latch string of his door always hung out and he was always ready in cases of sickness or need to give a helping hand. His loss will be keenly felt by those who knew him best hand his memory will be kept green by the friends he had made.
