Deaths - Monroe Evening News - November 9, 1940

C. J. G. Burck

Christian J. G. Burck, a lifelong resident of Monroe, died
yesterday afternoon at the age of 93 years.  Mr. Burck had
been at the home of his son, C. A. Burck on South Macomb
street, since August 30.  He died at the residence at 4:14
o'clock.

Born in Monroe June 6, 1847, he married Mary Waldorf (sic) of
Monroe in June of the year 1877.  The two spent all of their
married life at 311 East Third street, Mrs. Burck having
preceded her husband in death in the fall of 1931.  Prior to
his coming to the Burck residence on South Macomb street, he
had been in Detroit with another son, Theodore W. Burck, for
three years.

Surviving are three sons, C. A. Burck of Monroe, Edwin J.
Burck of Jackson and Theodore Burck of Detroit; eleven
grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The body has been removed to the Rupp funeral home.  Funeral
arrangements have not been completed.
Note:  Walldorf was misspelled.
