Obituary: Services have been set for Grace V. Fix, 96, a resident of Beach Nursing Home for two months, formerly of Newport, who died at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the nursing home. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Ford Chapel of the Allore-Martensen Funeral Home, Rockwood, where the rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. Friday by St Charles Altar Society. The rosary also will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. She will lie in state from 9:30 until services at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Saint Charles Catholic Church, Newport. The Rev. William Tindall, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery, Newport. Born Feb. 13 1903, in Newport, she was the daughter of Benjamin and Monica (Reaume) Cousino. She married Merril B. Fix Jan. 24, 1923. He died Oct. 8, 1986. She was a homemaker and a member of Berlin Township Senior Citizens; Swan Boat Club, Newport; St. Charles Catholic Church and its Altar Society, Newport, and a life member of Monroe County Farm Bureau. Surviving are a son, Howand B. of Newport; a daughter; Betty Foucher of Allen Park; two sisters, Alvina Theison and Gladys Hoffman; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren, and four great- great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, and a daughter. Memorials may be made to St. Charles Catholic church or American Heart Association.
