William Gerhard, 67, self-employed manufacturers' representative in Birmingham for the metal castings industry, died of cancer Wednesday, Nov. 27, 1991, in his Pinehurst, N.C., home. Mr. Gerhard was on a golfing vacation at Pinehurst when he died. He also had residences in Birmingham and Stuart, Fla. His company, which he starting in 1973, was called Gerhard Industries. He was a former vice-president of Swedish Crucible Steel Co. in Hamtramck. Mr. Gerhard attended Wayne State University and the University of Michigan. He was a past president of the Detroit chapter of the Society of Manufacturers Representatives; a member of the Detroit Athletic Club and Bloomfield Hills Country Club; and was active in the Hunters Creek game preserve. He served in the Navy in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Surviving are his wife, Viola; two daughters, JoAnn Patterson and Eleanor J. Reddig; four grandchildren and one sister. The body has been cremated, but a memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 27 in Kirk-In-The-Hills Church, 1340 W. Long Lake, Bloomfield Hills. Sr. Mary Rose Capizzo Taught at many parochial schools Sister Mary Rose Capizzo (Rosemond), 72, a specialist in sewing and cooking at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Mother House, Monroe, died Thursday, Dec. 5, 1991, in Mercy Memorial Hospital, Monroe, after surgery. A native of Detroit, Sister Mary Rose grew up on Mt. Elliott, joined the IHM order in 1937, earned a bachelor of arts degree from Marygrove College and taught elementary school, particularly home economics, for 27 years. Frail health forced her to discontinue teaching and join the Mother House for 26 years in her specialist capacity. She taught at the following Michigan schools: Holy Rosary, Trinity, St. Vincent, St. Raymond, Christ the King, St. Agnes, Marygrove pre-school, all of Detroit; St. Joseph and St. Mary Academy, Monroe; St. Patrick, Carleton; St. Michael, Flint; and St. Mary, Mt. Morris. Five brothers and four sisters survive. A wake was scheduled for 1-9 p.m. today in the IHM Mother House, Monroe. A vigil service was set for 4:30 p.m. today in the Mother House Chapel. A funeral mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Monroe. Rupp Funeral Home, Monroe, was in charge of arrangements.
