Funeral Saturday morning at 10 o'clock June 7, 1894 Daniel Hasley, SR one of Maybee's best known and highly respected residents, died at his home in that village, on Wednesday the 30th ult. of pneumonia, in his 65th year. He was born in Germany, December 20th, 1829 and with his father came to Monroe, in 1846. Soon after their arrival they located a home in the then wilderness of Exeter where he spent the remainder of his years. The deceased was married to Miss Emma McCormick April 20th 1857 who lived but a few weeks afterwords. June 22nd 1859 (Should be 1857), Mr Hasley was married to Miss Margarette Mann. To them were born eleven children- eight of whom with their mother survived him. Mr Hasley was never a politician but was many times called upon to hold offices of trust in his town. and always discharged his duties in a conscientious manner. His friends are legion throughout the county, and his death is learned of with deep regret. Funeral Services were held at St Paul's Lutheran Church Saturday morning and were attended by the German's Workingmen's Society, Lodge of Odd Fellows to whom the deceased was affiliated and also the school children in a procession in a body.
