She was 79. Mrs. Jonescu worked for 25 years as a secretary for the Heating and Cooling Department for the city of Detroit. She retired in 1978. She was a member of St. George Romanian Orthodox Cathedral in Southfield and the St. John the Baptist Church Senior Citizens group in Detroit. Surviving are her husband, George; and a sister, Mary Johnson. The Jonescus were friends for more than 60 years with Mary and Joseph Fatean. Mrs. Jonescu died within hours of Mr. Fatean. Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. today, with prayers at 7:30 p.m., at Lynch and Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks, Clawson. The funeral services for Mrs. Jonescu and Mr. Fatean will be at 10 a.m Saturday at St. George Romanian Orthodox Cathedral, 18405 W. Nine Mile, Southfield. Burial will be at West Berlin Cemetery in Berlin Township. dz
