K. Reed (Special to the Evening News) 1951 Detroit, June 20 -- Mrs. S. Kendrick Reed, 62, of 176 Fisher Rd., Grosse Pointe Farms, died this morning in her home after a lengthy illness. She had been seriously ill for the last four weeks. Mrs. Reed had been widely known in Monroe, having lived here since the age of 4 until 14 years ago when the family left to live at Grosse Pointe Farms. Born Luella Johnston Aug. 7, 1888, at Parkersburg, W. Va., she was the daughter of Lewis Johnston and Cora Waldorf Johnston of Monroe. She was married to Mr. Reed in her Monroe home Dec. 10, 1910. She was confirmed by the late Rev. Charles O'Meara of Trinity Episcopal Church, where she was a member of the Church Guild. Friends may call at the Earle Little funeral home tonight. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday with the Rev. John Bradner of Trinity Episcopal Church officiating. Burial will be in Cemetery-on-the-Hill at Chillicothe, Ohio. Survivors are her husband: two daughters, Mrs George Fink and Miss Joy Reed, both of Ann Arbor, and three grandchildren, Nancy, 12; Michael, 6, and Peter Fink, 4. One Brother, Lewis F. Johnston, preceded her in death 10 years ago. jic
