OBITUARY Mrs. Catherine Sancraint, a lifelong resident of Monroe County, died last evening at 8:30 p.m. at the home of her daughter; Mrs. Sam Barron of 626 Hubble street, with whom she had made her home. Mrs. Sancraint would have observed her ninety-fourth birthday anniversary on February 4. Mrs. Sancraint was born in LaSalle township February 4, 1840, She moved with her parents, Mr and Mrs Oliver Delisle to Monroe while still a young child. At the age of 13 years her mother remarried and they moved to Newport to live. Mrs Sancraint was married to Sylvester Sancraint of Berlin township on June 16, 1856. They lived near Newport where he farmed until his death on May 23, 1907. The anniversary of their golden wedding was celebrated June 16 1906, a year before the death of Mr Sancraint. Since his death Mrs. Sancraint has been residing with Mrs Barron. She was the oldest member of the Altar Society of St. Charles Church of Newport, having joined about 76 years age. Besides Mrs. Barron she is survived by three other daughters, Mrs Alex Hagerman of Monroe, Mrs Charles VanWassonova of Newport and Mrs. Matt Smitz of Lawton, New York; four sons, Sam, Levi, Isadore of Monroe and Philip of Newport; 51 grandchildren; 97 great-grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at St. Charles Church, Newport, Monday at 9 a.m. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery
