I could not locate the headstone of her husband John. =========== Also buried in the oldest cemetery of St. Patrick's, is a John Murphy, born abt. 1805 and died 1880. Mike Cunningham has found records that John Murphy was born in Monaghan County, Ireland. Although I know that Ann Murphy was born in Ireland, I do not know that she was born in Monaghan County. I do know that her husband John Ward was born in Monaghan County. It seems very logical to presume that Ann was born in Monaghan County and that she met and married her husband John Ward there, before they immigrated to the United States. On the 1850 and 1860 censuses in Exeter, the household of John Murphy is very close to the household of Ann and John Ward. I think that there is a very good chance that John Murphy was a brother to Ann, but need a more information to support a connection.
