Additional Comments: Sophia was born Sophia Peters on March 17, 1827 in Mecklenburg, Germany. She was the Wife of Joseph Brandt and Mother of Sophia Diehn. Their children were Sophia, Minne, Mary, Dorothea, Louise and Fredericka. The Brandt family lived just over the Michigan-Ohio line, about where the Sylvania-Ottawa Lake road runs and there were no roads, just a path between the trees. Their place was near what is now known as the Ritner farm (1980's info). Also near their farm was a farm owned by General Garrison who fought in the Civil War. .
