There had been no indications that her illness was of a serious nature and no alarming symptoms developed until Saturday night, from which she grew rapidly worse until the final end came at 6 o'clock. Her death was due to blood poison and rheumatic fever. Miss Brown has grown up from a little girl in this village and has many friends in her social circle that will mourn her loss and miss her associations. The school attended her funeral which was held at ten o'clock Tuesday, in a body and contributed a beautiful heard design floral wreath, as a token of the respect in which she was held. Her seat at the school house was also deeply draped in memory of her sad departure. The funeral ceremonies under the auspices of Rev. D.J. Owens, were conducted from the Baptist church Tuesday and the remains laid peacefully at rest beside her mother in Palo cemetery. She leaves a father and sister to mourn her early and seemingly untimely departure who have the sympathy of the entire community in their bereavement.
