County News, Thurs., Feb. 12, 1942
Mrs. Martha Hatinger, died Saturday night at the home of her son, Ralph 
Safford, after a long illness. She was born in Bloomer township, Montcalm 
County, January 27, 1860, and moved from Vickeryville to Palo in the spring of 
1920. Her husband Frank Hatinger passed away in October, 1930. With the 
exception of several winters which she spent in Victor N.Y., with her daughter 
Mrs. Warren Clover, she has lived alone in her home in Palo, but was taken to 
her son's home early last fall. Besides the two children mentioned she leaves 
four grandchildren. Funeral services were held at her son's home in Ronald 
Tuesday, February 3 at 2:00 p.m. and burial was beside her husband in the Palo 
cemetery.
